A classic wide Mission oak frame will hold an 8″ x 10″ picture, photo, or artwork with three (3) inches on both the stiles and rails. Corners are joined using genuine mortise and tenon joinery and then secured with flush square pegs in each corner. The wide oak frame shown is constructed of the most popular wood, quarter-sawn oak.
Keyholes are included on the back of the frame. Keyholes allow the frame to hang flat against the wall.
Quartersawn oak is a prevalent wood used during the Arts and Crafts Movement. The way this wood is milled into boards creates beautiful rays flaking on the surface of the boards. Properly finished making these flakes pop out and create a distinguished look, unlike any other wood.
